How the Pandemic Has Influenced Our Perception of Insurance

At this time last year, most of us were waking up, having our morning coffee, maybe watching a little news, and then rushing off to that 8-5. Little did we know that for so many of us, things were about to drastically change. Almost overnight, we are closed in, fearful of what the next day might bring. What is this looming virus that will force us all to reevaluate nearly every aspect of our lives? Not only was it in the back of our minds that we might not find toilet paper (who would have ever been able to predict that?) but that possibly the stores might be closed altogether. So we decided to pull up our bootstraps and trudge out to the unknown – praying we wouldn’t catch this deadly thing they called Coronavirus and praying that we’d be able to check off all of the things on our list. For some Americans, these fears only scratched the surface of the other questions and fears that we held tightly within our 6-foot bubble that we’d go on to (attempt to) live within for the next year and then some…

Naturally, these fears have created a silent panic within us that we might face on a daily basis or it’s possible we might not even recognize it. But for most, the unknown is a looming, black hole that wreaks of question marks. This in turn has caused us to do things maybe we wouldn’t have done before – panic shop for insurance. I describe this as googling “cheap insurance”. Saving money has never been more pertinent, at least in my lifetime, and insurance is a necessary evil. But there is a way to save money on insurance, and have great coverage!

The majority of insurance consumers, really don’t know the ends and outs of the coverages and must rely on the price to dictate whether they want that plan or not. This is the opposite of how the buying should be. Coverage should dictate the price – period. Many agents have had the phone call in their career from that one individual who wants to compare apples to apples, let me ask you this… Do you really know what apples you have now? Let us help you unravel, understand and save money too.
